Missouri S&T is launching the search for the Vice Chancellor for Engagement and Outreach (VCEO) to lead efforts in marketing and communications, community engagement, and K-12 outreach programs. This position is a retitling and expansion of the current Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications and is not an additional administrative role.
This change aligns with Strategic Focus Area 5 (SFA5) of our strategic plan, which previously did not have a Vice Chancellor directly associated with it. The role also supports Missouri S&T’s North Star Goals, including:
- Achieving and sustaining Carnegie R1 classification
- Reaching a U.S. News & World Report Top 100 ranking
- Growing enrollment to 12,000 students
Search Committee
A search committee has been formed, chaired by Steve Roberts, and includes representatives from faculty, staff, students, and trustees:
- College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE): Marco Cavaglia, Robin Verble, Pablo Sobrado, KC Dolan
- Kummer College of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development: Sarah Stanley, Joan Schuman, David Bojanic
- College of Engineering and Computing (CEC): Doug Bristow, Jeremy Maurer
- Staff & Administration: Barry Robbins, Jackie Sancome, Justin Sander, Mindy Limback, Melanie Keeney, Emily King
- Student Representation: Aiden Pickett
- Trustee Representative: Jim Faletti
Chancellor Dehghani formally delivered the charge to the search committee on Thursday, March 13.
Clarifying the Search Process
- This is not a new position. It is an adjustment and expansion of the existing Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications role.
- While this is a national search, we are not engaging a search firm.
- The decision to move forward with this search was made with an awareness of the current budget constraints and the position’s alignment with the university’s strategic plan.
