WittKieffer Selected to Lead Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Search

We are excited to announce that WittKieffer has been selected as the search firm for the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. This firm was selected by the search committee, with input from the UM System. Below is a brief outline of the search timeline (subject to change):

Key Milestones:

  • Mid-January: Community Listening Sessions (In-person and Zoom)
    • Engagement sessions with campus constituent groups.
  • Week of Feb. 3: Finalization of Leadership Profile and Ad.
  • February – Early April: Active recruitment period by WittKieffer.
  • Week of March 17: Search Update Meeting (Zoom)
    • Recruitment overview, market feedback, and preparation for candidate presentations.
  • Week of March 31: Candidate Review Meeting (Zoom)
    • Selection of 8–10 candidates for first-round interviews.
  • Week of April 7 or 14: First Round Interviews (Zoom)
    • Committee selects recommended finalists.
  • End of April/Early May: WittKieffer conducts due diligence on finalists.
  • Week of April 28 – May 5: On-campus finalist interviews.
  • Week of May 12: Final Search Committee Meeting
    • Deliberations and feedback to the Chancellor.
  • End of May: Appointment announcement and onboarding preparation.
